LEEDERVILLE LANEWAY HOUSE

The client brief for this project was an exciting one - to use cutting-edge 3D concrete printing technology to create this new build home for a 220m2 laneway site in Leederville.

The brief also called for limiting the building footprint of this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home to allow for maximum garden and outdoor space to the north, whilst capitalising on views of the stand of beautiful gum trees in the park to the south.

The design allows for views through the living spaces to gardens on the north and south, allowing a strong sense of openness and space, despite the small block size. Cross ventilation and natural light is also optimised to minimise active heating, cooling and lighting.

The house and landscape elements are to be almost entirely constructed on the 3D printed material to create a consistent design language, and the finish of the printed walls left raw to celebrate the uniqueness of this material.

Limiting the material palette will also create efficiencies on site, with the printing of each floor of the walls being printed by Contec Australia’s mobile robot printer in a matter of hours.

We are really excited to see this one come to life.
